Tryouts
A Message from the Club
Welcome to this years tryouts for the Capital Athletic Soccer Academy competitive soccer program. Competition is the struggle to be the best that you can in whatever endeavor you choose. Our program is designed to help participants compete in all walks of life, not just soccer. By utilizing soccer as its teaching tool our program will help our participants to be prepared to face the challenges of life beyond soccer. Traits like commitment, practice, attitude, teamwork, education, sportsmanship and coping with success and failure are all part of what we attempt to foster in our soccer program.
All of us want to win, however our program views winning games as a by-product of a successful organization not an exclusive measure of success. As the player becomes older in the program winning becomes more and more important, but winning does not always mean who has the most goals at the end of a game. We prefer to measure our success differently. The measurement of our success will come by seeing how many of our participants further their education and lead successful, productive lives in whatever they choose to accomplish.
Each of you seeks different things from soccer. Some of you wish to have your player play at the collegiate level, some wish to be on the national team, some seek only to nurture their players’ competitive nature, some want to expose their player to soccer and teamwork. We are confident that our program is designed to satisfy all these goals, however we recognize that the Club’s mission may or may not achieve your specific goals. We offer what we believe to be the best, well-rounded youth development program that uses soccer as its teaching tool in the Sacramento region.
While we believe ourselves to be the best there is to offer in Sacramento, we continue to strive, or “compete” to be the best we can be.
Along these lines we have implemented the following items to make ourselves the best possible program:
Ø Employed additional full-time staff and opened a Club office to handle the day-to-day operations of the club
Ø Refined our college preparedness program and have helped place several players at various colleges
Ø Conducted a major Youth Symposium in
Ø Encouraged and subsidized several coach certification upgrades
Ø Implemented programs in our
Ø Implemented consistent communication processes with newsletter, website and club meetings
Ø Implement an Academy for U18 players
Some of our goals for the upcoming years will be to:
Ø Continue efforts toward creating a field complex
Ø Continue to nurture and expand our relationship with the Recreational and Metro programs
Ø Increase fundraising opportunity for the club members
Ø Continue to increase fundraising at the club level
Ø Create a grass roots spring league for our recreational players
We know that the tryout process can be an emotional one, and we are striving to make it less stressful. We ask that you remain patient and that you allow the players to play, the coaches to coach and the administrators to administrate. In turn we ask for the parents to be parents and to encourage your player’s efforts both on and off the field of play.
Thank you for participating in this year’s tryout program. Please proceed to the online registration form.
