Player Development Program
Philosophy: Our player development program will focus on creating a “love” for the game of soccer. We believe children can develop a passion for the game at an early age. It is a player’s thirst and hunger for the game that motivates them to be special on the field. We also want our program to strive to develop terrific human beings.
At CASA, our aim is make soccer a fun and enjoyable experience for the future soccer players of tomorrow. Just like the U9/10 program, the U8 PDP will be organized in a academy style setting. Practices will be run in a camp like setting focusing on Balance, Agility, Ball Skills, and Various Soccer Games to keep the players excitement level at an all time high.
The program is open to boys and girls in the U8 category. Players can continue to play with their local rec teams and still participate in the U8 Player Development Program. It gives the children a chance to have quality training from our staff coaches and still go out and have fun with their friends in the neighborhood leagues. The Youth Academy will form teams to participate in local events like 6 a side tournaments and jamborees.
Player Development: All players will progress through a two part skills series prior to playing phase I & II. In Skill Series I, players will redefine and polish individual ball feeling and technical ball handing skills. Every session will incorporate a focused topic into game related environments; which will promote a better understanding of when and where to use their skills. Skills Series II, will establish an early understanding of game concepts. Practices in Skill Series II will break down and introduce game concepts, with the emphasis on the early emergence of attractive soccer. The focus of these skill series is to encourage players in a positive environment; that will create a natural urge to use their skills in games.Practice Environment: Practices will run approximately one hour and fifteen minutes to one hour and thirty minutes in length. Staff will incorporate a weekly topic into their training sessions, to create an academy style of learning. Players will rotate through coaching staff during weekly sessions to establish a familiarity and connection with all coaching staff and academy players. All sessions will conclude with small side games to allow players to use their new or polished skills and to promote an early love to play.
Game Environment: Game days will be played in two Playing Phases. Phase I, will be played outdoors, with in 3v3, 4v4 or 5v5 system of play. Teams and players will be constantly shape shifting, to promote strong interplay with all levels and coaching staff. The first phase will be played in world cup tournament style, to coincide with the World Cup. Playing Phase II, will feature futsal and indoor. This will allow players to learn a new speed and style of play. Playing Phase II will take part during our Winter Session.
